About Me

My name is Melissa, I was born and raised in Morgantown West Virginia. As  a teacher I would like to teach FACS in the middle and high school levels. Children learn from those who actually care about them. You can not go into a hands on field without not caring about who you are working for. Children young or old look up to us as a role model, and we need to keep that because we maybe the only person they trust. In a classroom setting I would be more of a hands on teacher as much as possible. I would have cook-off's for the cooking class. With this the students would prepare the meals, while their peers would have a score sheet and score how well they did. There would be prizes of extra credit handed out to all teams. For the sewing part of class I would have each student make a quilt panel, then the class as a whole would make a blanket that would be given to an ederly person that students submitted their name. I hope that I become a teacher that students look up to.
